Indonesia, Sumatra. Samosir. Ambarita village. Unfortunately most of the Batak buildings these days are roofed with rusting corrugated iron, but they are still interesting to look at. The space under the house is used for domestic animals, the living area is large with no fixed walls, often inhabited by a dozen families.
